This Week  I   Worship  I   Serve  I   Community   I  Save Date
Grace and Peace to you!
I've heard over my life, "practice, practice, practice...that's what helps you learn and grow." This week's note is about faith in practice. Try taking at least 5 minutes, maybe you'll take more but at least 5 minutes. The Bible can be approached in a variety of ways, this book of faith is an instrument that is to be practiced. It takes time and effort to practice, even in our journey as people of faith.

We come not only to hear about God.
We come not only to learn about Jesus.
We come to experience God directly.
We come to meet Jesus.

One of the places we come to is in the Living Word of God. How might we open the Bible ourselves and begin to read and experience God and meet Jesus? Are some methods of study more fruitful than others? Are there questions we can ask and curiosities to pursue that open us up to God speaking to us through the Bible?

Whether you've opened the Bible hundreds of times or never. Take 5 minutes to try, open up a Bible - Beginners, Adventure, Story, on an App., find a translation you connect with and can easily read. Open up and try taking a T.R.I.P with God.

1. Choose a story, a verse. Read a couple times.
2. Pause.
3. Respond.
T = Thanks What in the story/verse makes me thankful?
R = React What in the story/verse made me react? (good, bad, did you feel it?)
I = Inquire What does the story/verse lead me to ask (questions. concerns. curiosities)?
P = Plan What action does the story/verse encourage me to take?

Keep practicing faith, find ways to experience God and meet Jesus. Through a practice like the one above or another. Maybe you read a story or verse a day. Practice individually or with family and friends. Form a group, create safe, sacred spaces to practice! Be encouraged, inspired, empowered and be led more fully into becoming the person you are: BELOVED, Child of God.
Peace & Blessings,
Pastor Jen Collins (she/her)

"Teach me, O God, Your way...Give me understanding, that I may keep your ways and observe it with my whole heart." -Psalm 119:33-34
